The rare bed

Shahabad Maroon

Deep muted purple-brown, worked from a narrow horizon within the same belt. Output is limited, so it is sold against named projects rather than held as open stock.

Texture at working distance. Dry, an even aubergine-brown with fine pale seams. Polished, the seams read as a light lacing across a near-black field.
Commercial building lobby floored and clad in polished Shahabad Maroon limestone, with daylight raking across the reflective surface
Installed. There is no comparable dark warm limestone in general UK distribution at this price. Specifiers use it for interior floors and lobby cladding where a dark stone is required without moving to a granite.
